According to the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, the Bremen Town Musicians were a ragtag bunch of wayfaring troubadours. Each an outcast in his/her own way, they threw off the shackles of their cruel masters and put aside their species differences to build a new life as free animals. Their music was so awful it made grown men quail with fear.
