Welcome to the December update and general festive roundup of what has been an especially hectic and productive year.
The past 12 months has seen the creation of:
- 3 book covers
- 22 football cards
- 20 full colour paintings
- 71 pencil drawings
- one mermaid sculpture
- ... and an elephant (puzzled? Read on ...)
We have seen the publication and launch of my new illustrated book Le Royaume enchanté, now available from amazon.co.uk and amazon.fr.
I also have released 3 new prints, 6 new bookmarks and 8 new greetings cards.
Throughout the year it has been fun to have my work exhibited in various venues including London, Paris, Birmingham, Salisbury and Harrogate.
All in all it's been lots of hard work, with the odd excitement/jam donut and outing to keep things fun.
The Daniel Maghen Gallery now has a collection of original Discworld artwork available, and a selection of my illustrations from Le Royaume Enchanté will be exhibited there from the 15th of December.

At the time of writing, we are preparing to depart for Paris to promote the book with interviews and signings. My thanks go to my friend Olivier Souillé for organizing everything with such enthusiasm and dedication.
The past few weeks has seen a departure from my usual paper, pencils and paint: I have taken delivery of a life sized baby elephant! I am honored and delighted to be contributing my artwork to The Elephant Parade in London next summer on behalf of the Orangutan Foundation, and am now in the process of decorating our elephant 'Eko' ready for him to stand in Hyde Park.
The event is billed as London's largest public art exhibition and aims to raise £1 million for Asian elephant conservation.

I have also produced artwork for a special 2009 Hogswatch stamp for The Discworld Emporium.
Atlantia the mermaid is currently in the foundry being mightily sworn at by Doug who has to fettle every one her scales! Here she is at the wax stage...
Her first public outing will be in The Mall Galleries, The Mall, London , SW1.
Atlantia will be accompanying the artwork by Christian Birmingham from the new Walker Books publication of 'The Little Mermaid'. The exhibition runs from 9-13th December courtesy of Books Illustrated.

I would like to thank everybody this side of the channel and the other, for being such a pleasure to work with throughout the year; we have had a lot of fun and are very grateful for all the hard work folks have done on our behalf.
There are plenty more schemes and wheezes planned for the new year, including some exciting new projects and collaborations ... watch this space!
