Biography

Paul Kidby was born in Northolt in 1964, the youngest of three by ten years, he spent much of his childhood drawing.

He left school with few qualifications and trained as a dental technician making false teeth (which has come in handy when working on three dimensional projects).
Paul went freelance in 1986 (after a stint painting designs on roller blinds, where he learnt to air brush) and produced artwork for various products ranging from computer game packaging to video film sleeves.

Between 1991 and 1995 he worked for Future Publishing. Maybe you've seen his stuff out there, he designed and painted over 200 magazine covers.

In 1995 he took the plunge and committed himself to working exclusively for Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series.

Twelve years later and re-married in 2004 Paul is now to be found living and working in the New Forest. He still produces Discworld artwork, alongside other projects...
