This month I have mostly been painting rats - witness Maurice and his educated rodents for the Discworld calendar. I’m calling this painting, ‘The Clan'. Infact I have been eating, sleeping and dreaming rats since I started on this – did you hear that noise? <The muffled chomping of dentures> I think they're in the walls...

I am posting up another image from the forthcoming Discworld Diary, this chappie is the Balancing Abbott, but he also looks a bit like the man who delivers our oil. It’s one of my favourite images.

For anyone in the London area later this month, there is a chance to see the original artwork of the Mythical Beasts series, originally created for limited edition exclusive giclée prints last year. They will be on show at The Royal Academy of Arts LAPADA fair ‘Objects of Desire’ 10th - 13th May on the Books Illustrated stand, where other Discworld original artwork is available for sale.
