This past month has seen a continuation of the work marathon I seem to have got involved in. At present I am working on a few illustrations simultaneously, which certainly keeps me on my toes, although I have been known to wash my brush in my tea a few times lately.
The cover artwork for the forthcoming Discworld novel is now in the final stages of completion. Check back here soon, to view the stages of development and the final image itself.
The new jacket image for ‘The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents' is also still a work in progress. I am now starting to apply colour washes over the underpainting…
I now have to colour them in a bright and slick style and try to hold my own against the amazing talents of the other artists who produce WoW artwork.
I have recently supplied an illustration for a scientific book about the evolution of the eye for the University of Chicago Press , which was an educational experience for me…
Lately we've been delighted to hear that I am included on the list for Spectrum 17 , which showcases the work of fantasy artists from around the world. I feel honoured to be included in a line up of great contemporaries and friends.
Jenny Clarke Design has now launched two new Kidby sets of tattoo flash for 2010, featuring a range of faeries, dragons and pixie types.
Books Illustrated will be at the Birmingham NEC, Antiques for Everyone on the 8 th – 11 th of April with a variety of my original artwork. Complimentary tickets are available from them.
There is still lots more to do in the coming weeks, but I'm determined to keep up the pace. Wishing you all the best for a chocolatey easter break and a nice lie down in the daffodils.
