Paul Kidby News Update – June 2011
I am excited to announce that June sees the release of my new limited edition prints, Celeste and Celeste Gold. As with my other giclées, these signed and numbered prints are very high quality; printed with lightfast inks on heavy weight cotton paper and accurately colour matched to the original artwork.
It's unusual to see a hare in the New Forest, but they can be seen streaming across the fields on the other side of the river Avon, which borders the forest. To me they have always been a magical and inspiring creature of infinite beauty, and it the essence of this I have tried to capture in my paintings and my recent bronze.

This month I have begun another new sculpture, a panther! It is still in the early stages but I hope in a few weeks time he will be regal and mighty and will sit well with my growing collection of bronzes.
The Artists Copy of Nemesis the bronze griffin is all that remains following the sale of all 12 of the edition – so if you have been holding out and deliberating whether to offer the piece a home now is the time to take the plunge…
French publishers L'Atalante are soon to be releasing their omnibus of Mort, Reaper man and Soul Music to add to their growing collection of Kidby book jackets.

We are busy preparing stock for next months four-day event, Art in Action, where I will be demonstrating my techniques in the illustrators section. 2010's event was really fun and full on (approximately 25000 people visited) so I'm looking forward to sharing my working practices again and to meeting the diverse and inspirational collection of artists, artisans and visitors in the stunning Waterperry House gardens.
It's not long now till the release of the Paul Kidby 2012 Discworld calendar, (available for pre-order from Amazon)
