Paul Kidby News Update – May 2011

The past month has been full of sunshine, bunting, barbeques, Easter hats, wedding hats and holidays.

However there has been much busyness in my studio…

Now that the cover artwork for Terry Pratchett's forthcoming Discworld novel ‘Snuff' has been released by the publishers I am posting a studio feature this month showing a few of the various stages that went into creating it - click here to see the feature.

My new bronze hare Celeste had her first public showing at Harrogate Art Fair recently, along with editions 11 & 12 of Nemesis the griffin – the final pair in the edition.

I am currently working on a painting of Celeste.

I have also submitted 11 pencil illustrations to Czech publisher Talpress for their double edition of ‘Small Gods' & ‘Lords & Ladies' by Terry Pratchett. Here is a new drawing of The Great God Om (complete with battered shell).

The Art of the Imagination will be exhibiting a selection of my original work at the following Antique and Fine Art Fairs:

  • Naworth Castle, Brampton, Cumbria, 6th-8th May
  • The Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, Derbyshire, 12th-15th May
  • Tetsworth, Oxforshire, 20th-22nd May

Tickets are available on request www.booksillustrated.com

All the best for a merry month of May,
